FAQs

What is the PR-Palooza Midwest District Conference?

PR-Palooza gives you behind-the-scenes access to top agencies and corporate teams, hands-on breakout sessions on the latest industry trends, and the chance to connect with Chicago’s dynamic PR professionals and alumni. With networking, real-world insight, and career advice from industry leaders, you’ll leave with the skills, inspiration, and connections to jump-start your career.

In the past, we’ve seen our conference attract students from more than 18 PRSSA chapters across the country. Attendees are highly motivated and incredibly committed to the public relations field. This conference is an opportunity for them to learn about future opportunities and take away valuable career advice as they enter the field.

Where is the PR-Palooza  Midwest District Conference being held?

The event will be held in Chicago, IL. Our conference events will take place on DePaul University’s Loop Campus in the College of Communication (Richard M. & Maggie C. Daley Building). In addition to on-campus sessions, site visits will allow students to explore agencies and organizations throughout downtown Chicago, giving participants the opportunity to experience the city while learning from professionals in real-world settings.

How will transportation work during the conference?

All registered attendees will receive a one-day pass for Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) buses and trains to travel together as a group between conference locations and site visits. Please note that some walking will be required throughout the day. If you need any accommodations related to mobility, transportation, or accessibility, please contact us in advance at prssadepaul@gmail.com so we can best support you.

What is a PRSSA dues-paying member? How can I become one?

It means you have a PRSSA membership, paying $55 annually to access international PRSSA internship opportunities, scholarships, etc. You also will join a local school chapter (like DePaul’s) which will have its own fee, varying according to the school. Membership enhances your education in the PR field, broadens your network through industry connections, and supports you as you launch your career.
